Britney in London

Seeing Britney in London was my third concert on the Femme Fatale tour (following Herning and Rotterdam).  As I’d see the concert three times ((Unfortunately, I’ll have to give a presentation next Thursday, so I cannot make it to Lisbon as was my plan 🙁 )), I set goals so none of the concert would be disappointing compared to others.

At the first concert, I had a meet and greet with Britney, so that was my goal.

Unfortunately, I got a seat at the first concert, which, while giving me a nice overview, made it impossible to  see anything in detail.  Thus, my goal for the second concert was being front and center on the floor.  As I had a backstage pass with early access, this was no problem, and I achieved my goal for that concert as well.

During the backstage tour of the first concert, I’d met Destinee & Paris, and completely fell for their music.  They had meet & greets after each concert, but at the first I did not hear that until it was too late and at the second I was stuck at the front of the stage ((And didn’t want to give up my spot.)) and couldn’t move.  Thus, my goal for the third concert was a meet & greet with Destinee & Paris.  As a bonus goal achieved, I also got to experience a concert in a larger venue ((The O2 Arena, accommodating up to 20.000 people, compared to the 12.000-15.000 possible in Boxen in Herning and Ahoy in Rotterdam.)) on a Friday, so there was much more partying going on everywhere.

I do not have a lot of pictures from the concert (and you can see many and quite decent pictures from my concert in Rotterdam anyway).  As I did not have backstage pass or early access, I was sitting in line for 3 hours.  I therefore got a decent spot near but not at the front:

Behind me, the venue was large and empty.  Of course, this was more than 2 hours before Britney went on stage.

After Destinee & Paris’ performance, I went to the meet & greet.  Knowing the exact procedure (making sure to ask where it was in advance and knowing exactly when during the show to leave), I was first in line.  I got this neat-o signed picture:

After the meet & greet with Destinee & Paris, I noticed that others got their picture taken with them, so I lined up again. The line was quite long:

Getting to the back of the line I previously headed, I eventually got this great picture.

You’ll notice that I am wearing the t-shirt I got from work featuring the picture from the meet & greet with Britney.  This seemed to amuse the girls and their mother (I’m guessing she was their mother), so they shot a picture for themselves as well.  That amused me.

After a great meet & greet where I got to talk with Destinee & Paris for a minute or two, I went back to the main room, where Joe Jonas had just finished up.  The arena was still pretty empty:

Just before Britney went on stage, the arena was more or less full, though:

This was followed by the great concert and show, I’d seen a couple of times.  I still love the little dance move Britney makes during “to need release” in “I Wanna Go“, and how the crowd goes wild around that number and for the amazing finale.

After the concert, I could enjoy that all cafes and bars around the venue playing Britney music, but had to leave early for Liverpool Street station as that was where I’d take the train to the airport and home.  Unfortunately, I was unable to find an open pub, so I was walking around in a more and more empty city for around 4 hours.  That was not very fun!
