So, I hear the internet is just about to take off, and I think I should write one of those web apps. Now, I’m too lazy to do much investigation myself, so I wonder if anybody out there has a good recommendation for a toolkit to use.

I want a high-level programming paradigm in a real language. Not some half-baked shit like Rails that will make something work halfway with little room for customization. I want something with a very fluid look-and-feel; think Mac-like and jQueriy. I want something that doesn’t look like it was shat out by GWT. I want a fluid design that works on both computers and smart-phones (only really care about iPhone). I’d prefer to have Facebook + Twitter + App.net APIs available in the language.

Any ideas?
