So, I got this idea… Tentative name: Le Tour de Monde.

The idea is to do a half-distance Tour de France during the TdF. The tour will be all over the world. People install an app on their phones making it possible to follow them and see individual rankings and more. It’s intended as a hard but doable recreational “race” – based on last year’s tour, it’s around 85 km/day for just over 3 weeks.

Anybody up for trying to put this together? Need phone developers, web-designers and event people. I can do the server and web-frontend myself.

Thinking of trying out a Kickstarter for some funding, but won’t be able to put it all together on my own in time for 2015. I’m thinking doing a trial run this year and next year launch it bigger with a training season as well.

Originally, I was just thinking “Le Tour de Pays Bas” with a slogan “Doping Totally Allowed,” but then I decided there was no reason not to go bigger.
