Maybe it’s just because I’m old and still remember setting up file sharing over an RS232 cable on two DOS machines and the fun of setting up dual display on DOS (only worked with one color and one monochrome display), but I still think it’s quite fantastic to be able to use my external hard disk back home from a virtual machine running on a laptop 4000 km away via VPN.
