GitLab

Just migrated a bunch of old stuff to http://ift.tt/1uqsXFf

It sure is a trip down memory lane to see repositories 14 years old, filled with writings of an angsty teenager, all projects and hand-ins from my entire university life, and source code from spur-of-the-moment programming projects finished or abandoned more than a decade ago: games in various states of unfinishedness, the classics such as a mandelbrot generator, Conway’s game of life and a RPN calculator, projects to teach myself new techniques (hey, there’s that mail reader I wrote in one evening to learn Ruby), and m̶a̶n̶y̶ ̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶i̶d̶b̶i̶t̶s̶ much more crap. All mixed with recent projects, such as everything I wrote as a PhD student and PostDoc, my personal branch of CPN Tools, and the project I just started this weekend.

All carefully versioned and tracked for 15 years; jQuery and Scala mixed with ancient .cvsignore files and spurious vendor branches left over from the early days when all of this was stored in CVS before the transition to Subversion, and now Git. http://ift.tt/1uqsXFf
