Can anybody explain the appeal of Apple Music?

I tried tuning into Beats 1, but it had somebody talking, which is exactly the opposite from what I want a radio station to do.

Then I tried sampling some custom stations. Britney Spears: Deep Cuts was just a playlist of 20 Britney songs already in my library. The others were either unappealing or already in my library. What does these “radio stations” do that I can’t get better from Radio Britney or Fréquence3, or by pushing “random” in my S Club 7 or Olivia Somerlyn playlists?

Then I tried sampling Hillary Duff’s new album, but only got iTunes’ regular 90 second preview of each song. I tried a Demi Lovato song from her 2014 album (which was in my library) and still only got a preview. It’s not integrated, it’s not smart.

If I got a jukebox where I could pick and choose any song from the ITMS, where I could download, say, 1-2 albums each month, if it just removed the difference between music I already bought and music I didn’t while I was subscribed (much like how ITunes Match removed the distinction between on my device and in the cloud) it might have a chance. For now: no thanks.
