Just got an electricity statement and decided on a whim to compare it with my electricity statement from 12 years ago. I do that sort of thing at times.

Turns out that my residence today is roughly 80% larger than my residence 12 years ago and at the same time my electricity usage 12 years ago was roughly 80% higher than my current electricity usage. Similarly, 12 years ago I paid roughly 21% more per kWh than I do now which corresponds pretty much to the inflation over the period.

This proves beyond any doubt that 1) electricity use is inversely proportional to residency size, and 2) electricity prices go down at the same speed as inflation goes up.

I’m sure this has been educational for all.
