14 years ago I sat on the flight home from a workshop at Microsoft Research in Cambridge. It was a good workshop, where I presented our version of what later became multi-touch. Probably the most important memory is the bartender who would wave me to the front of the line at the bar, where my drink would stand prepared. He was a true hero.
