Something like 10 years ago, I and others bought and assembled a handful of shelves for beer storage for the Friday bar. We were left with weird metal parts we had no idea what were for, so we did the only sensible thing and trashed them.

Yesterday, I received around a handful shelves for roughly the same purpose, and lo and behold it turned out to be pretty much the exact same model. I assembled it and ended up with weird metal parts I had no idea what were for, so I did the only sensible thing and left them to trash today. This morning it dawned on me that they were meant to stabilize the rafters holding up the shelves, and I just mounted them properly.
