It’s that delightful time of the year where I put my battery life on life support and reduce performance to that of a 70 years old dude without Viagra, and install wildly unstable developer previews of Apple software.

Having spent what adds up to several minutes with the new software, here’s my analyst impressions:
– the biggest change, of course, is that both iOS and watchOS have adopted a slightly bolder typeface
– the exercise app has finally been updated to reflect that showing the current time is more important than a cut-off explanation informing me that I am currently on my bike (that’s a big one!)
– my 2010 MacBook is FUBAR; apparently installing very early preview versions of software offering to replace the filesystem on a computer deemed obsolete was a less than stellar idea – luckily Apple released new Macs so in the end it all works out
