Coming from Denmark and living in the Netherlands, one thing that has always baffled me is that other expats keep saying that you have to wildly exaggerate your maladies to get treatment from your physician.

Well, here’s some stats: 1) the third leading cause of death in the US is medical error, and 2) medical errors is directly proportional to the amount of medical treatment you get.

Perhaps the Netherlands and Denmark are right and only treating things that really need treatment is the healthier choice? Perhaps this is one of the very scant “less is more” situations…
