Here’s a thought:

The success of Britney is most likely what ended the era of pop groups (like NKotB, BSB, Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child, Steps, SClub7, …) by kick-starting the era of the solo pop artist.

Her success gave us the world, but at what cost?

Imagine Justine Bieber as the lead singer of a trashy girl band. Or Bruno Mars as “the black one” in Backstreet Boys 2.0. Or Miley Cyrus as Twerking Spice in Spicier Girls. Or Azelia Banks having to interact with other people. Or Britney as the lead singer of Innosense (waitaminute…)
