This week’s curriculum has come prefixed by no less than 3 trigger warnings. I don’t recall ever seeing that in my old math books. Maybe the social sciences or kids these days are just more squeamish, because there is no way that “the psychology of extreme circumstances” should warrant a bigger warning than the first time you grasp just how fast the Ackermann function grows, or rival the human agony that is statistics class on a Friday morning.
