I think the English language should switch to better collective nouns for nationalities, just like it has for birds.

Thus, like we have a murder of crows, an asylum of loons or a parliament of owls, we could have an insult of Frenchmen, a herd of Americans, a sausage of Germans or an invasion of Russians.
